Costa Coffee planning application for outside seating

posted in: Planning, Shops | 2

Costa Coffee has applied to Woking Borough Council for permission to have outside seating when they open the coffee shop in the shopping centre (Plan 2015/0020). The application is made in conjunction with Plan 2014/1367 about the replacement of the children’s play equipment. The outside seating was in the original planning application last year but this aspect was withdrawn – possibly because of the concerns over the future of the play area. The Goldsworth Park Community Association believes that the coffee shop with its outside seating and the new play area with its colourful tiles will be a benefit to the shopping centre. The main concern is the state of the paving, particularly in the corner by the post box; pedestrians will be funnelled into a narrower gap where the uneven paving is particularly bad and there have been many trips and falls.

Costa coffee without outside seating. The seating and the play equipment should be left as it is. It is a good community area
