Thames Valley Housing is running a 12 week course for people looking to start their own business in the food industry.

Participants will receive specialist training from Enterprise Cube and Community Chef, whilst also having the opportunity to learn about marketing, sales, funding, business plans, tax, and product development. Those taking part can also receive expert advice from industry professionals. At the end of the course participants get to pitch their business plan at a Dragons Den style event and will also have the opportunity to sell their products at a market fair.

This is a free opportunity for 20 people to turn their idea into a real business. Lunch is included and one participant may receive a short term contract with The Cosy Café in Woking. Ongoing support and guidance will be provided for all participants.

There will be a taster session on Tuesday 13 September 2016 from 11am until 2pm, followed by weekly masterclasses every Tuesday from 20 September to 29 November, running from 10am until 3pm. The Dragons Den event takes place on Tuesday 6 December, with the Market Fair happening the following week.

All sessions, classes and events will take place at The Lighthouse, 8-10 High Street, Woking, GU21 6BG.
