Changes to bus services from September 2016

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

Do you travel by bus in Surrey? From Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 September 2016, there will be changes to a number of local services, including timetable changes and the introduction of some new routes.

The changes are being introduced as part of Surrey County Council’s review of local transport, which aims to make sure the bus services that are used the most can keep running in the face of huge funding pressures.

Earlier this year, a public consultation on the proposed changes saw more than 2,600 residents and other stakeholders have their say, and their feedback was considered when the changes to services were agreed. In some cases, this meant adapting proposed changes to make sure that strong local concerns were listened to.

New timetables will be available this month.

  • Online via the bus operator websites, the County Council’s website and Traveline.
  • Over the phone by calling Traveline on0871 200 2233 (calls cost 12p per minute plus your phone company’s access charge).
  • In print in bus operator booklets, and Surrey County Council’s Bus Guide booklets, available from libraries, local council offices and other outlets throughout Surrey – these will be available from late August.
  • At bus stops from late August.
