Local groups can now apply for a place in this year’s Party in the Park and join in celebrating the life and achievements of two of the most successful music artists ever to come out of the town. This year’s theme was chosen in honour of the late Rick Parfitt from Status Quo, the veteran rocker who grew up in Woking,

The party will also pay homage to punk band The Jam, which was formed in Woking after members Paul Weller, Rick Buckler and Bruce Foxton met whilst at Sheerwater Secondary School.

The Park Party will have   something for everyone with music, dance, drama, workshops, great food and other cultural activities. Plus there will be entertainment from a wide range of local bands, professional artistes and community groups. Dance Woking will once again curate dance with a mix of local groups and professional companies, giving visitors the chance to watch, perform and take part.

The Council is seeking interest from traders, stallholders, workshop facilitators and musicians that want to exhibit.
