Could you take ‘The challenge’? Try rock climbing, hiking or canoeing, or develop a skill in media, music, drama or sport, or design a social action project

This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience designed to help young people aged 15-17 year olds grow in confidence and gain teamwork and leadership skills that employers and universities value.

New Vision Homes (NVH) which manages Woking properties, including some in Lakeview, is offering young people whose parents or guardians live in an NVH managed property to take ‘The Challenge’, a National Citizen Scheme that brings together people from different backgrounds, ages, ethnicities and walks of life.

The benefits of NCS include:

  • An opportunity for personal development
  • Good fun and great for building independence and confidence
  • A chance to improve communication and teamwork skills
  • Recognized by UCAS and will help deliver a great personal statement for your application

As part of the scheme, you will have the opportunity to live independently, take part in exciting activities, gain new experiences, make new friends and contribute to your community.

You will spend time away from home with all activities covered this includes accommodation, food (when on the residential part), transport from and back to the meeting points, and equipment for activities. Completing the NCS is just the beginning. As an NCS graduate, you will be invited to exciting events during the following year and have access to on going activities in the area.
