Woking’s premier outdoor party returns on Saturday 11 July. A firm fixture in the Celebrate Woking calendar, Party in the Park 2015 promises to be the biggest and best yet!
From 12noon until 9pm, visitors will be treated to an array of free performances and activities set in and around Woking Park and this year Party in the Park is going vintage!
Think traditional British summer fete, bunting, Punch and Judy, cloudy lemonade, coconut shies, picnic hampers and carousels! Experience all this and more as we take you back in time to the 1950s and beyond.
An open air, festival-style stage, will showcase bands such as King Pleasure & the Biscuit Boys and the Electric Swing Circus, as well as performances from professional and local dance acts. At the same time, there will be a host of activities, workshops and pop-up shows to appeal to people of all ages. Adding to the fun will be traditional fairground rides, a vintage craft fair, classic car show, authentic food village, swing and jazz bands to keep you bopping throughout the afternoon. If activities arent your thing, just come along and soak up the atmosphere it’s a party and you’re all invited!
The Party’s crowning glory will be its Big Screen, which will showcase championship tennis and live action from the Tour de France during the day, followed by a night at the movies with the students from Rydell High.
From 6.30pm, Pink Ladies and T-Birds are invited to take over Woking Park for a special screening of Grease! Refreshments and funfair rides complete this summer loving experience in the Main Field but don’t get stranded at the drive in without your picnic blanket and 50s inspired fancy dress.
