Surrey County Council’s local transport review aims to make vital savings while maintaining the services residents rely on most, and feedback from over 6,800 residents who responded to the council’s consultation has played an important role in this. We are now writing to give you an important update on the review and our plans to launch a second consultation.
Proposed changes to local bus services
To make the savings needed from the review, we are now proposing some changes to a number of bus services in West and East Surrey. Full details of the proposed changes can be found in the attached document. If a bus service is not listed in this document, no changes are proposed for that service this year.
This Monday 11 May we will be launching a second consultation, giving residents and stakeholders the chance to find out what we are proposing and have their say. The consultation will run until Monday 8 June.
How residents and other stakeholders can take part
- Online at surreycc.gov.uk/transportreview
- By completing the paper questionnaire, available in libraries, local council offices and on buses in all affected areas of Surrey and neighbouring counties.
- By phoning 0300 200 1003 (SMS: 07527 182 861) to request a copy of the questionnaire sent straight to their door.
- In person at a public event – find out more at surreycc.gov.uk/transportreview.
The findings of this second consultation will inform the final proposals, which are due to go to Cabinet on 23 June. Any agreed changes to services will be widely communicated from early July and would come into effect from late August 2015.
If you would like to request any copies of the poster or questionnaire, or if you have any questions about the consultation or the review proposals, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0300 200 1003.
