Woking Local Action 21, with the support of Woking Borough Council, will hold its annual general meeting at the H.G. Wells Conference and Events Centre on Wednesday 19 November at 7.30pm. WLA21 is a voluntary group taking action locally on issues relating to climate change and sustainability.
Come along to the meeting – it’s free – to discover more about the work of LA21 and their projects, including Operation Owl, Woking’s new wetland reserve at Heather Farm and WOLF, the new Woking Local Food Directory.
Special guest, Sarah Jane Chimbwandira, Biodiversity, Evidence and Policy Officer at Surrey Wildlife Trust, will provide the keynote speech `Putting the wild back into Woking’ about how local people can appreciate, study and protect the wildlife on their doorstep.
Charles Barber, spokesperson for Woking LA21, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sarah Jane from Surrey Wildlife Trust, to this year’s LA21 Annual General Meeting. Sarah Jane will talk about how local people can get involved in encouraging all kinds of wildlife into their own back garden, local parks, open spaces and waterways.” For further information about the event, please visit Woking LA21’s website or call 01483 743413, or emailwokingla21@yahoo.co.uk
